Founded in April 2014 by graduates from Cambridge chapel choirs, the Godwine Choir was set up to capture the atmosphere of chamber music at university and bring it to London as part of professional life.
The choir specialises in a cappella works from the 20th and 21st centuries. They have performed works by a number of contemporary composers, including Gabriel Jackson, Jonathan Rathbone and Cecilia McDowall. Recent recordings include the world premiere of a new carol by Roderick Williams for the Financial Times.
The choir gives regular concerts in leading central London venues. The ensemble has also sung in Cambridge, Oxford and Buckfast Abbey, Devon. Peformance plans for late 2015 include appearances at the Brandenburg Festival in London and Malcolm Arnold Festival in Northampton.
The Godwine Choir is available to hire for weddings, services, flashmobs and corporate events by contacting our events secretary.
